About Me

My husband and I, along with our children have been part of the Northlake family for 20 years.  Jack and I have 4 children, Sarah, Molly, Bek, and Patrick, and 4 grandchildren – 2 girls and 2 boys.  It is a nice start! I have been blessed to be part of the staff of Northlake since 2001, most of those as Children’s Pastor.  As a lover of children, I treasure the ‘light bulb’ moments when things click first in the mind of a child, and then his or her heart!  It is what I long to witness!

Where I am From

I was born in Las Vegas but moved with my family to Portland when I was in the 1st grade.  There I met and married my husband Jack in 1980, and we moved to Washington state in 1982.

Favorite Hobbies

I love taking in a good play, but am happiest at a musical where I am likely to sing!  I especially enjoy animated movies with my grandkids, reading, jet-skiing, traveling with my hubs, our family vacations with all the kids and their kids, and playing all sorts of games over a bowl of Jack’s famous popcorn!

Where I’d Like to Travel

I love going anywhere tropical where I can lay on a lounge chair and pretend to read, while I am really watching people!  I tend to read and re-read the same paragraph over and over.  Where would I travel?  If someone were to give me a plane ticket, I would quickly board a plane to visit my daughter Bek in Perth, Western Australia! Yes, I have been there twice, but this mama’s heart misses hugging her girl on a regular basis!

Favorite Food

Um …yes! It might be easier for me to say what I don’t like: liver and black licorice.  I love most foods, but love Mexican, Mediterranean, and good ol’ meat and potatoes – especially lamb.  One of my most favorite dishes, though, is my mom’s Chicken and Dumplings.  It is world class in my mind, and she would often make it for me on my birthday.  My sister, Tina now makes it for me, and it is one of those foods that remind us of home, and all the memories we shared as a family.
